Can anyone tell me if you run the risk of burning up an alpha while using a 25 watt radio?

Supposedly they fixed that problem.... the 220 was burning up a lot and supposedly, the 320 and alpha are safer.....'''''BUT''''' not 100% sure.....I talked with the tech at garmin and he said they don't run the risk that the 220 did,but use sensibly.....long range anttenas have a lot of juice running through them...I always use my and haven't had any issues......

I think the alphas are supposed to run on a different frequency than marine band radios. I see on some of the other boards there was a lot of talk about it when they first came out.

I dont know if it will or not but i do know that they changed the freqancey that the alfa runs on in an atempt to fix this problem. This is the reason that the alfa does not work with DC20-30 or 40s.
